Since 2004, when Des Peres Hospital launched our Commitment to Quality program, we have participated in the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA), a public-private collaboration established to promote public reporting on hospital quality of care indicators that routinely reports data on hospitals' performance from across the country.
The HQA's web site is intended to help patients make informed choices when selecting a hospital based on the following process of care measures:
- Seven measures related to heart attack care
- Four measures related to heart failure care
- Six measures related to pneumonia care
- Eight measures related to surgical care improvement project
Des Peres Hospital performs above national and Missouri averages for the core measures related to heart attack care, heart failure care, pneumonia care and surgical care improvement process. Our aggregate hospital rating score was 97.7% in CMS process of care measures, vs a national average of 96.6% and a Missouri average of 96.4%.
Specifically, for 2Q10 - 1Q11, the most recent data available, Des Peres Hospital’s aggregate hospital ratings performance for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care improvement process was as follows:
