Visiting Hours

Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Des Peres Hospital has an open policy concerning visiting hours.  We do ask however that everyone respect our patients' need to rest and recover.

Cafeteria

Cafe Des Peres is located on the second floor and is open the following hours, every day:

Breakfast            6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.                                     Lunch/Dinner      11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Vending Machines

Beverages and snacks are available 24 hours a day from vending machines located on the second floor near the cafeteria.

Cell Phone Usage

It is advised not to use cell phones near a person on a monitor.

Des Peres Hospital offers wireless Internet access for our guests.

Gifts for Patients

Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients to make sure the gift is appropriate.  In the Intensive Care Unit, please check with the unit nurse regarding any gifts for patients.

Parking

Parking for patients and visitors is available on the upper parking lots.  Parking is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  All parking at Des Peres Hospital is free.  Patients and visitors are cautioned not to park in reserved areas or certain designated areas.  Be sure to lock your vehicle. 

If something happens which causes you to need assistance with your vehicle, please contact Security.  For an escort to your vehicle, which is provided at any time, please call Security.

Out-of-town Visitors

In the event that patient relatives and visitors from out of town need accommodations, we are happy to provide you with a list of local hotels and motels.

Please note this is a list of hotel accommodations within a convenient distance of the hospital.  We do not endorse specific properties and patronization of these hotels or their amenities is at your own risk.  Prices and information listed were provided by the hotels and are subject to change without notice.  The hotels may change their rates without notice and accommodations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please call the hotel directly to make reservations, confirm vacancies and confirm rates.

Gift Shop

Located in the hospital's main lobby on the fourth floor, the gift shop offers personal care items for patients and visitors, jewelery, magazines, greeting cards, candy, flowers and plants.  Hours vary and are posted in the window.  Volunteers staff the gift shop.

Chapel

The chapel is located on the second floor near the cafeteria.  Visitors of all faiths are welcome for worship services, prayer and meditation.  Holy Communion is distributed by request.  Please notify the nursing staff if you would like to receive Holy Communion.

 Helpful Visitor Guidelines

  • The staff of Des Peres Hospital is here to help with any questions you may have.
  • Security officers assist you in your safety while you are visiting our hospital and out in the parking lot.
  • Please consider the patient's health by washing your hands before and after visiting.
  • Trust and confidence of patients is our primary mission. When the doctor, nurse, technician or therapist enters to give treatment, visitors may be asked to leave the room.
