Our Emergency Department is open 24/7 and is equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies -- from appendicitis, to broken bones and heart attacks.

The ED team has round-the-clock access to medical specialists who provide prompt assessment and specialized care when their special expertise is needed.

Our healthcare professionals understand and put a high importance on communication, and work to keep your waiting time to a minimum.  We pride ourselves on taking care of you as if you were family.

Des Peres Hospital's emergency department is classified as a Non-Designated Trauma Emergency Department.  We  provide 24-hour emergent, urgent and non-urgent care.

Our relationships with local and outlying ambulance districts utilize some of the latest communications systems, including the ability to transmit 12-lead EKGs directly to the Emergency Department Physician, allowing for rapid identification and treatment of heart attacks.

In addition to cardic care, we provide emergency care for  respiratory disorders (pneumonia/ respiratory disorders, severely impaired pulmonary function, compromised airway), ENT/ophthalmology disorders, septicemia, lacerations, orthopedic trauma including sports injuries, pediatric emergencies, OB/GYN disorders, and problems of the gastrointestinal system.

Other conditions that are life-threatening (such as drug overdose, nutritional/ metabolic imbalance and/or disorders) are treated as well.
