Des Peres Hospital Initiates $8.3 Million Construction Project
Includes Additional OR Capacity and New ED Waiting Area
(St. Louis) Des Peres Hospital today announced it is implementing a multi-phased construction and renovation project designed to increase capacity, add new services and improve the patient experience at the hospital.
The more than $8.3 million project consists of simultaneous renovations and new construction within the facility’s existing footprint. In addition to new staff lounges and locker rooms, the project will add:
- 2 new operating room suites
- a new interventional cardiac catheterization lab
- a new waiting area for the Emergency Department
- a new suite for a 16 slice CT scanner
- new electrophysiology services
“These additions and service upgrades will allow us to better deliver a high level of service to our physicians and their patients,” said Michele Meyer, chief executive officer for Des Peres Hospital. “Ultimately, our goal is to continue to be ‘user-friendly’ and make each customer’s experience here as comfortable as possible.”
Meyer noted that this project is the second in a series of planned renovations and new construction designed to enhance the hospital and its services. The hospital completed a $2.9 million renovation project earlier this year.
